Children's tv character voices

Aargh has anyone else noticed that the same old voices are used with different children's programmes such as FIFI and the flowertots , Little Princess , Noddy ? there is one woman's voice which appears in LOTS of these progarmmes and I seriously can't tolerate it for long, it's so grating and so obviously the same person on the different shows. Can't the people sourcing voices use a bit of imagination and stop using the same ones over and over ?

They are often made by the same production company, and will emply voice artists that are reliable.

your on about martha the monkey,who has a verydistinctive voice! like a blackboard and nails kinda way!!!

yes ! it is the annoying woman who does martha the monkey - glad to hear I'm not alone !

Jane Horrocks does the voice for Fifi in Fifi and the flowertots and I remember seeing her name on the credits for other children's programmes, so she could be responsible for most of them.

I heard her today on clifford the Big Red Dog - another one I won't be letting my kiddies watch. I can't bear her voice !
