I guess we all have fads on different foods now and again, so do you have a present one. I've gone a little crazy on Sainsbury's Medjool Dates over the last few weeks.

Newberry Fruits - just have to sample one ... then it's another and another  ...  😊

They've got Guinness crisps around my local farm shop but I've never tried them.

I've always liked Shreddies and cornflakes as a dry snack.

^For a dry cereal snack, I've discovered Nestle Kitkat cereal and prefer them without the milk!

The Coop's raspberry and peach sorbet - delish. Have eaten them out of it apparently and no replacements have yet emerged from their distribution centre.

I'll back the Idahoan mash - just add a little butter and a couple of grinds of fresh black pepper - may try it soon with some finely-chopped spring onions in it as well.

I thought my stew days might be on the way out until i looked out of the window this morning and the temp. No guessing whats woffting through the house😁

Medjool dates with a little bit of some nice blue cheese put inside.

Sainsburys sea salt and cider vinegar crisps. I find them crunchier than the major brand. Not a fan of junk food so 5 or 6 at a time is just enough.

Hard midget gem's especially the black one's

Tinned ratatouille by La Doria.  I've about a dozen of  them to get through.  By the time I've finished them I might be scared.

^. Sated, not scared.

Always had a bit of a fad for dark choccy, now its the dark one thats 75% coco, some are 85%.😃

For Christmas 2022 I bought Mrs JtH some Medjool dates. She ate several a day and way soon complaining of bad headaches. This continued for several days as we didn't think that the dates would be responsible.

Eventually, I Googled Medjool dates, and guess what? A well-known side effect of eating them is headaches.

It sounds potty, but it's true.

well, Morocco, there we are..... have you tried 'cooking' them towards the end of a tagine?

I Think if you over eat any one item there will be some sort of reaction. They are very high in sugar and fiber so not to many at one time is the name of the game .

She purposely didn't eat more than a couple a day mindful of the other possible effects on her digestive system.

But the connection between eating a dried fruit with a headache was not an immediately obvious one.

Guess it can hit us in so many ways...my deep aversion and strong reaction to banana for instance, something I share with Lady J.....

I love those dates too, I buy the big extra special ones from Sainsbury's which are squidgy and soft. OH likes the bog standard ones which are smaller and tougher, I don't care for them.

I think once you have the TTD ones from sainsburys, or M and S medjool dates, others won't do.
