Well I read that wrong from the shortened version in recent!
First decide what you want from your lawn, is it for kids, in which case a tough meadow turf is good, if you want a fine lawn you need a nice fine seed/turf. The better the quality the more expensive.
Look locally, often you can find someone doing it reasonable if you are not too fussy.
