Happy birthday Rowanwitch - its also a happy day for a young blackbird this morning after getting trapped in my chimney yesterday. I was faced with listening to the poor thing die because I couldn't see how to move the sealed metal plate blocking it in.

After a walk, I thought of exactly the tool I needed but there was little chance of me finding it among the rest of my tools ( I last used it over ten years ago).

I just stood in the tool shed pondering where this tool might be and guess what.. it was right there in front of my face! couldn't believe it.

The blackbird decided to stay in overnight and then this morning it hopped out, spread a bit of soot around the living room before flying off to the tree in my garden - so happy day all round.
