..... but Mr. Flip-flop does change his mind like he changes his socks !

Question Author

PS I forgot to mention. He is not going to increase fuel duty either.

So what taxes does he intend to raise?

Question Author

Well done Keir . All the more reason for people to vote Labour.... Bless him.😎

Question Author

At least the parents who pay to send their kids to private school will only have to pay the going rate of vat on the fees. With no increase so thats good news for them.

Gulliver, you will be so sorry when Sir Flip-flop ends up as PM and does an about turn on taxes !

I always thought you had rose tinted glasses rather than the sunglasses you seem to have adopted

Starmer will probably get his revenue from windfall tax and the mega rich . Makes me feel glad I don't live in the UK.

As you don't live here I don't understand why you are so in love with Sir Flip-flop !

And when he's spent the windfall tax where's he going to get the rest from?

People want decent public services in this country, but they dont want to have to pay for them. That is is the problem all incoming governments seem to have. Labour will almost need to raise taxes sometime in the next 5 years. I have no problem with that

"I have no problem with that".

Well I bloody well do.

I already pay far too much bloody tax for what I get out of 'Big State', and this will only get worse under Labour.

I've just completed my self-assessment return and it makes me want cry in impotent rage how much of MY money I give to the Govt. As near as makes no difference I am working two days for my employer and three for the Govt now. Even the most ardent, naive, left wingers must surely accept this has to wrong.

I am significantly more capable in managing MY money than any Govt is.

Question Author

DD 18.42 You are paying too much bloody tax now .That's  because you have  supported  the Tories for the last fourteen years. Enjoy.😎

Question Author

Deskdiary.  Are you aware that Labour have not yet taken over  from the Tory Govt that broke Britain ... Just a few more days to go before the glorious Labour party step into No 10 and come to your rescue. Just be patient.😎You will love it.

I'll vote for any party that says that it'll immediately raise VAT to 25%, increase fuel duty by a minimum of 20p per litre and raise the basic rate of Income Tax to 25% in 1% stages over the next five years.  If we want decent services, we've got to pay for them!

Promising such as that and raising steath taxes instead is usually a Tory strategy. Strange Starmer is adopting it. Shows both parties are too similar.

Gully is going to go very quiet when Labour are in control.

Hopkirk 22.02 I do not live in the UK. Although I am glad as an outsider living in the EU. I am now allowed to vote and have my say on which political party I want to govern the UK. I will be pleased if Labour win the GE .But as I say it will not affect me really who wins.OK 😎
