Whilst the sentiment is laudable he was actually murdered on the 22nd May 2013

His grave is only a few yards away from my sisters', in Boarshaw Cemetery, Middleton.

I went to put some flowers on my sisters' grave one time, when a man in army uniform marched up to Lees' grave using a pacing stick. He was a Royal Marine. He stopped at Lees' grave, stood to attention and saluted. He stood to attention for two minutes. I spoke to him afterwards and said how good it was of him to do that. He said that Lee was his nephew and he would never forget him. He said that Lee had always wanted to be in the army, and as long he was able, would always honour his nephew. A moving thing that I didn't expect at all.
