Central heating problem
1 Answers
I bought a new house 2 weeks ago, on the first day i put the heating on and it worked fine, all radiators v.hot etc. As i am not living there yet i have left it off all week and at the weekend i couldn't get it to work.
Its a Lifestyle LP112 24hr progammer system with a glow-worm boiler, the system is 7 yrs old same as the house. When i switched it on i selected heating only and the boiler kicked in ok but no radiators warmed up so i selected hot water too but after about 15 minutes still no joy.
It has been tried twice since (y'day and today) and still no heat. Am i missing something very obvious or is it properly broken!?? TIA. xx

These things tend to stick after not being used and the scenario you present is a classic - the first time (for many months) you asked it to change its position (when you asked for heating only), it probably tried to move and then gave up the ghost. Now its stuck between positions (probably). See if you can find such a device (probably in the airing cupboard near the hot water cylinder) and try listening for it's motor slowly turning whilst someone turns the programmer settings for you.
