I have been told by my colleagues at work that i have BO (Bad Odour) but is it that big a deal. I don't usually put deodrant on as i find i dont like the scents they do and i prefer to smell natural :) . I think they are blowing out of proportion but iu just want your thoughts on the subject.

there is no excuse for bad personal hygine.

Lush.com do a nice range in natural deodrants
Hippos chuff ~ roflmao!!!!!

Seriously though..doesn't BO make you wanna blow chunks? it's foul...
Interesting point though - pre-deodorants did everyone stink? Who first decided BO was unacceptable? Whatever the answers to those, the fact is we now find it unpleasant and it can be a real issue in workplaces. If this thread isn't a wind-up, then dippiblonde needs to recognise how her BO is bothering her colleagues.
pre deodrant people washed. As redcrx said BO isnt just because we dont use deodrant its because we havent washed well too.
it kinda feels worse if your a girl. I've said before on AB i have smelly feet but I can say I never take off my shoes at work! so hopefully it doesn't bother my colleagues well at least no-ones said anything !!!!
4get that's a good point, though I'm sure there are people who start the day out clean having had a good wash/shower etc but then stink by the afternoon.

kylie I remember your smelly feet confession from before but why is it worse for a woman? (and same for BO for that matter)

By the way dippiblonde BO stands for Body Odour although yes it is Bad too.
Anyone thought dippiblonde might be a guy??

Deodorant come in natural non-perfume varieties for sensitive skin, so there is no excuse.

Way back in time people would douse themselves in perfume to cover up body smells (pre Romans introducing us to baths), as it was not considered 'necessary' or needed to wash!

However, having said that, it must be a wind-up!!!

GO stinky GO!!!!!!
ive opened the windows. is that better ?
There is another tactic blondie if you want to cut down on the tedious washing thing.

Travel to work with your blouse/shirt unbuttoned so the wind can get in and evaporate the sweat from your armpits. This is particularly effective on a bike on a windy day.
Thank goodness it's a windy day, help blow the stench away!
a wee poem muffty . thanks
As redcrx advises, sweat does not smell. Stale sweat interacts with bacteria on the surface of the skin, and that is what smells.

If you don't like scented deoderant, then use an unscented brand, but if you prefer not to use one at all, then simply wash your body thoroughly with soap and hot water twice a day, and change all your clothes daily - and wash and launder them regularly as well - and you won't smell offesnive. OK?
dippiblonde, I think that considering the fact that not one person has agreed with you regarding the use or not of deodorants has answered your question on other peoples thoughts on the matter.Consider how unpleasant it must be for your work colleagues.
I don't think your colleagues are blowing it out of proportion. It's not an easy subject to broach without the person in question taking offence. So rest assured, you must smell pretty bad for your colleagues to have mentioned it.
Do you actually want to smell terrible? That isn't 'natural'...
Erm excuse me dippiblonde, but why are you using a similar name to mine? Can I just let everyone know I'm the REAL dippiblonde this one who uses a capital I for and L is not me. Just thought I'd point that out.
The fact is, no one 'likes' BO and if you are working with other people you have a basic responsibility to smell nice... or more specifically, not 'smell' at all..... alternatively, go live on an island... if you must 'stink' then do it alone...
