I think the nation has woken up to the error it has made.

It IS a message in that so many people feel sufficiently at odds with what Labour is doing to register their disapproval so soon. I don't think this has ever happened before.

You've had a little 'whoosh' moment there, untitled.  Dry your eyes and try again.

I see on the map there are quite a few who have signed from Northern Ireland where they don't vote for any of the two main parties.

From midnight to 0800 there were 105,185 signatures added.

you could perhaps just explain the point you are trying to make naomi. what do you think i am missing about the map?

Bug at 7.40 - that is curious isn't it. From what I can see there's nothing on the website either. In the last few weeks the website has reported on a petition to save a Post Office in Kendal with 2000 signatures, a high street bank branch in Somerset also with 2000 signatures, the name of a pub with 1300 signatures, safety improvements to a busy road with 300 signatures, but nothing for a petition with nigh on 2,000,000 signatures.

Funny that.

untitled: "it's not a message. " - this has never happened before, this level of dissatisfaction in so short a time. It's a message alright, one the government will be concerned about. They'll not show it publicly but as this number grows they'll get more and more jumpy. The lefty BBC is ignoring it at the moment but soon the media generally will get hold of it. Oh yes me old china it's a message.

....looks like it's picked up again....1.9m

are you sure about that toratoratora?

this petition reached 2.5 million within days of the original vote. the "message" there was exactly as pointless as the one in the OP - that people who didn't vote for something still don't like it! what's the point of that? useless.

Question Author

09:40 stop thrashing me old china, this is about governments being elected and then being universally hated even by those that voted for them within 5 months.

Sure the remoaners where angry and they had a right to their petition but so soon after the original vote just smacks of sour grapes. They should have won easily if they told us why we should remain instead of trying to frighten us with project fear. They enabled brexit themselves.

This is completely different, this is a reaction to the worst start of any government in history. For someone that claims not to be a Labour supporter you don't half fight their corner.

This is from a card carrying socialist who wants TGL exumed and hanged in parliament square. If Labour are upsetting these who have they got left?

if you actually bothered to listen to what the left say then you would know that starmer's leadership labour alienated much of the traditional left years ago... if memory serves you even praised him for it. Labour losing such people (and i would include myself) is not news.

So Labour is as unpopular as brexit was...🤣

"This is completely different, this is a reaction to the worst start of any government in history."

the only difference between this and the remoaner petition is that you agree with one and not with the other!! 🤣

Untitled, the darkest colours indicate areas of the highest votes.  Look at northern areas of England - Labour areas - swimming in deep red.  My area - always Conservative - is a pale shade which would indicate fewer votes.   Like it or not, we have all been let down by this government but Labour voters have been let down more than most because, unlike those who saw through the hogwash dished up before the election, they foolishly believed the lies and trusted Mr Starmer & Co to be as good as their word - only to find out within just a few days that they aren't - and never intended to be.

Question Author

10:15 not true I agreed with the brexit petition. I didn't sign it but I defend their right to have it and register their displeasure. The difference is that it was only about a week after the referendum and clearly a "how did we lose that?" reaction. The country has had 5 months to sample the new government and all across the political spectrum there is anger and dissappointment. It's not just non Labour signing it.

the darkest areas on the map indicate about 5% of constituents have signed the petition naomi... hover over some of them and you'll see it's about that. even in labour strongholds there are some votes for the opposition so it will come as no surprise to them that they have opponents in labour constituencies. i think you have been a bit taken in by the colours and failed to scrutinise what they actually mean.

Do give over, untitled.  You're grasping at straws.

don't get snippy just because you forgot to read the legend

I reckon by this petition's sell-by date  -  May 2025 - the whole country will have signed it.  😂

I forgot nothing, untitled.  You are grasping at straws.
