continues on....the latest being the sale of the Royal Mail to some Czech outfit, a 500 year old UK company down the Labour laundry tubes to the Dump.

Disgraceful.....they're in a downward spiral as in they increase the prices of postage and their volume goes down, so what do they do - increase the prices again and watch the effect! How about promotional drops or doing deals with card companies etc around things like Christmas.

I believe it will become a "niche" product. I think it will be used only by people and organisaions who mus send physical material. Already the legal profession (the very worst to embrace any form of progress) is accepting documents sent by e-mail rather than insisting on a piece of paper with a "wet" signature.

I think the notion that the RM will deliver to every address will have to eventually go. Recipients will have to pick up their own mail from a hub or similar.

This will present problems in many areas of my own particular interest, particularly road traffic law where the legislation specifically provides that many documents must be served by post. That legislation will eventually have to be modified.

But I think the routine delivery to every address in the UK five or six days a week will have to eventually go.
