using  w11   chrome   my  q   is  why does  my  laptop  keeps  shutting  down  every  5  minutes   its  only  12  months  old

By far the most common reason for any computer (whether it's a desktop or laptop model) to shut down after a short while of operating normally is that it's overheating.  Check the air vents to see if they're obstructed, Henry.

(Note: Despite the name, one of the worst places to use a laptop is on your lap.  Doing so almost inevitably means that the vents underneath it get obstructed by your clothing).

Unexplained malfunctions are sometimes caused by updates that require user attention. To check for updates on Windows 11, Select the Start button, then go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates. If updates are available, you can choose to download and install them.
