I have just spent £2,090 on clothes for myself. Two tweed jackets, one Navy Pea coat, five trousers, three jumpers, six shirts. Self indulgent? Maybe. I certainly look a lot smarter, though I do look and feel better. Opinions?

Oh dear, puts my £17.50 jumper at M&S Outlet this afternoon in the shade .

Harris Tweed jacket £350. Nice, but very expensive I think.

P.S. Not egoism or vanity - buying nice clothes does make one feel better IMHO.

Thank you Canary42.

If you can afford it, go for it! Makes you feel better I'm sure and lifts your spirits. Enjoy. 😃

You can spend anything you want on yourself.  I spent 5K on a watch for my birthday. I don't give a damn what anyone else thinks.

Are you going somewhere nice?

Wow!  Very nice if you can afford it - is  it charity shop for your old ones or are they for gardening/bin?

Good for you! Everyone needs a treat now and again.

I could wear the most stylish clothes available - I would still look like a bag of spuds! 😥

Question Author

Not going anywhere particularly. Charity shop for things that are decent. Dogs charity for wool and cotton items that can be used.

I bought the pea coat as it reminds me of when I was in the Merchant Navy. But, 'you can never go home again'.

Thanks for your input .

Snap Davebro3!

Plus I don't go anywhere where a sack of spuds wouldn't look out of place!

Remember Harry Enfield ? Loads of money!

If you can afford it, why not?

Can't take it with you.

Did you buy then all in the same shop?

If I could afford it I would do exactly the same.  It's your money and what you spend it on is really nobody's business.  I love a smartly dressed man.
