I've needed new knees for years, but I subluxed one getting Into the car, and haven't been able to straighten my leg for two months. It's very painful. I can't get a new Knee until I live somewhere else as I'm on the second floor. In the meantime, any advice about painkillers?

Bednobs, there is a Sliding scale of everybody's pain and what they can manage day to day, Which obviously varies. It depends on what you ate the day before, whether you've taken painkillers, stress, what the weather is like. Really random things can affect your pain levels. I could stagger a few steps room to room, using my two sticks. I can't walk unaided down the road. If I sit on a very soft mattress, I can manage a few minutes. If I sit on a hard chair, I'm in pain immediately. I can't stand up because I'm instantly in pain, my body feels like it's been put together wrong. Some bits are too loose and some bits are too tight. That's where I'm at. I've had operations before, which I've made the problem worse. Yes, it can be worse. I have a level right now where I am coping on my own, although it is difficult and I can barely get down the stairs. Having a knee operation or any operation Has several months of reduced mobility. Can you imagine my Mobility being reduced from what it is now, and how I would cope with that on my own? Plus the difficulty of healing with EDS. That is why I am reluctant to have any operation. I hope that makes it clear to you.

I hope you get some proper help with it all soon, Scarlett.

Thanks Barry!

Sending a very gently hug. My pain is awful but I don't have your problem.
