This makes no sense. The US has announced the visit by no one in Greenland seems happy with it - so who agreed to it and who will host it? Or will the Greenlanders just ignore her and let her and her party do their own thing as tourists? It appears unlikely.

Have yhrg not thought that maybe Greenland too wants to put the interests of their citizens first too? I was reading about the island recently...there are no cars, no roads. Transport is snow mobiles. Imagine what would happen if Trump gets his selfish greedy mitts on it...roads,equipment, accommodation for miners,...destruction of the Greenlanders way of life.
The Vance account then goes on to make a noteworthy statement, considering that the vice president has not deviated publicly from Trump’s position on virtually any issue. “I am not sure the president is aware how inconsistent this is with his message on Europe right now. There’s a further risk that we see a moderate to severe spike in oil prices. I am willing to support the consensus of the team and keep these concerns to myself. But there is a strong argument for delaying this a month, doing the messaging work on why this matters, seeing where the economy is, etc.”
As a result of the September 11 attacks, Denmark fought alongside the USA in both Afghanistan and Iraq. In Afghanistan, 37 Danish soldiers were killed in various hostile engagements or from friendly fire, and 6 were killed in non-combat related incidents. 43 dead was the highest loss per capita within the coalition forces.
Denmark also participated in Operation Ocean Shield, the 2011 military intervention in Libya and the American-led intervention in the Syrian Civil War.
And then after that, we find JD Vance stressed that Trump would take the island if necessary, saying, “That is what President Trump is going to do because he doesn’t care about what the Europeans scream at us; he cares about putting the interests of American citizens first.”
And then Mike Waltz invites himself onto Danish soil, soon after perpetrating his own massive security breach in an insecure channel, along with Vance's wife. More "friendly fire"? I don't think so ... more like spoilt, entitled boys who are playing with weapons they haven't learnt to handle.
All becomes clear. Vance will be joining his wife on the visit but they don't appear to have been formally invited by Greenland. US forces stationed there will be hosting them.
