Yep, Hamza Yassin has built a career out of it

I knew there had to be one

It's not ridiculous because it's a true statement.

It doesn't say only white people can do it just that white people are the majority of watchers, which is true.

There was a similar statement about walking in the country being a 'white people's thing', which is also true, for exactly the same reasons.

People determined to be offended will find offence where none actually exists, and here is the proof.

that damn white privilege!

I don't think anyone is offended by that comment.

white people aren't offended, maybe BAME are with white people going birding.

Webbo appears a little vexed, although his ethnicity is not available at the time of writing.

Webbo at 18.54, do you need a comma in that sentence?

You might want to speak to David Lindo who writes the Urban Birding column in Bird Watching.

There are some complex and perhaps cultural reasons why some people from ethnic minorities feel uncomfortable in the UK countryside where bird watching is focused

The people who say "white people thing" should stop stereotyping and get into the countryside and join everyone else. Mya-Rose is a sensible woman with a healthy passion for the outdoors, she will benefit for it, good luck to her.

Wilfred Emmanuel -Jones has been reported to police several times by concerned passers by assuming he is up to no good when they've seen him on his farm.

They don't expect to see a Jamaican born man raised in Birmingham working the land in Devon/Cornwall

.

Just because the majority of a nation's population has light skin and consequently many traditional pastimes are indulged in by a majority of light skinned people, that doesn't make them a white people pastime.  The comment that it is, was nonsense.

Not that it matters much; unless it put folk off doing a leisure activity that they wanted to do.

Bit like saying only Asian men play kabaddi.

Someone should tell Emma Jones that

Anyone can go walking in the countryside or go birdwatching. If people of colour dont wish to participate, so what? That's their choice,  what does it matter?

In case anyone isn't familiar with Barry's reference at 19:19, he's also known as The Black Farmer...

Good luck to Wilfrid Jones. People reporting him for just being different is plain ignorant.

Ridiculous 🤣
