My Mum had a Seizure last week completely out of the blue (whilst lying in bed!) She has never had anything like this before. it lasted about 2 minutes then it took 30-40 minutes to bring her around. She was rushed to hospital where she had loads of tests but the doctors couldn't find a cause. She is ok now however she is not allowed to drive for 12 months.
This has been a big shock for the family and everyone is very worried for Mum. Has anyone had any experience of this that can offer any advice or suggestions?

did they test for diabetes... my mum diabetic and if her sugare level dropped too low she can black out etc or if it gets too high she can have a fit of sorts and become confused etc....
hi kaz,
try not to worry to much,
my mum has these small seizures,
although they dont last long, she can stay confused &
unsteady for up to 2 hrs.
they are called iscemic attacks ( not sure of spelling )
usually caused by a narrowing in one of the arterys in
the neck. although they can be potentialy dangerous
my mum has had them for 10 yrs.
so kaz try not worry to much.xx
There are so many different types of seizures. Your mother probable had a tonic clinic. She may only ever have one seizure and never have one again. She needs to take regular breaks from the laptop. The laptop may have triggered her to have a seizure-photosensitive epilepsy.

I have had tonic clonic seizures that are now controlled, I still suffer from simple partial seizures which are nearly controlled by medication.

I wish you and your family all the best!!
