The Magpie is very good. Its not cheap, but then again, the food isn't either, nor the service. Be prepared to queue, but when it isnt during peak times (1/2 term etc) you can reserve a table.

Check out the specials board. The basic cod and chips don't disappoint. The haddock in suace with plump prawns and chips is marvellous. The dressed crab is gorgeous too.
