Hi all im a newbie found the site by accident thought id post this up see what hits the fan

I had my car stolen with some sporting equipment in the boot anyhows a few hours later got a call from the police car found on fire but quickly put out equipment stolen and car damaged,Assesor viewed it and declared it a writeoff but couldnt figure out how it was taken no lock damage ingnition intact and steering lock not broken i had the keys in my pocket when the police came after it was stolen have given my v5 mot and keys to the insurance company but still no pay out everytime i call they are waiting for this report or another report what can i do can they refuse to pay out as this seems to be what they are doing as the assesor says there is no way the car could have been stolen

I worked for an Insurance Company so dont be fobbed off.!! Threaten them with with Insurance Ombudsman and they will crap themselves!! Go through the proper channels first though.

Whats the car? it could be worth you're posting up on the HonestJohn forum http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/threads.htm? f=2 where you will find a lot of people in the trade, traffic cops as well, and there are some cars which are a lot more prone to easy opening and stealing than the manufacturers would have you believe. Ford had a really poor electronic security system not so long ago- not a Fiesta is it ?
