Peeling paint problem
5 Answers
About 8 years ago our bathroom was remodelled and thus replastered. Emulsion paint was applied (can't recall any details as to how/when etc) and all looked fine. There have been several coats applied since then without anything untoward happening. But now the paint is peeling -in sheets! When Ive pulled the loose stuff off it comes cleanly away and the plaster beneath is completely bare and smooth. There is no external dampness -and the bathroom isnt particularly steamy either. Will I have to remove all of the remaining paint?Or just the loose stuff? Anything I can do to stop it happening again?

are just a build on the first coat.the only thing to do is to get back to the plaster and start again .any good d.i.y
store stocks emulsion specially made for kitchen and bathrooms ,it resists steam and fungus
We have exactly the same problem. We painted over the old paint and it just wrapped arround the roller in sheets like you stated.
We are now in the process of *trying* to remove all the old paint but cant get it all off.
Tryed a heat-gun and that popped holes in the plaster, tryed steaming out the room, but that didn't help...
Does it all need to be removed, and if so-- how ?!
Should you use 'paint for new plaster' over the plaster in a bathroom before the new paint is applied?
