I am just about to update my AVG anti-virus.
As i am a total ignoramous when it comes to things like this, can someone please tell me what to do.
When i go to the download screen there are numerous boxes to click on and i want to make sure i click on the right one. I use windows.
Thanks xXx

There are no boxes to tick, just click on the update button and leave it to it.
You should be downloading the new version 7.5
This will continue to be free, whereas 7.1 is discontinued in January.
Download it from here:

Strange as it may seem, when the options pop up, click 'repair' - this will make your current AVG the latest 7.5.
It should update automatically, but once a week I open the control panel (click the icon in the taskbar) and then 'check for updates'.
This should keep things running well.
