Pudsey Bear, was created by Joanna Ball. The bear was named after her home town of Pudsey, West Yorkshire, where her grandfather was mayor.

I spent an interesting morning yesterday with Pudsey! I work in a school kitchen and a stetch limo pulled up about 9.40am. Me and the boss lady were gawping at this massive thing with blacked out windows wondering if Robbie had come to wisk us away, suddenly realised it was brimming with people from radio York!!! It had all been arranged last minute so no-one knew he was coming. Pudsey came in with us until he was called into the hall to greet all the children! Tell yer! reckon I've just about seen it all!!!

Also, if Pudsey is the face of Children in Need, wouldn't you have thought that they would have directed a little of the many millions raised to fix his eye?
