Blocked Drains

Any ideas how to unblock my kitchen sink pipes? I stupidly poured warm fat down there last night without thinking and now they are all blocked up. My other half did clean out the u-bend but it's still blocked so must be further down the pipes. Really worried about if this can be solved without getting a plumber. ����

Could try soda crystals with hot water and maybe a plunger too. You can get soda crystals from most supermarkets.

Alternatively you could get some flexible drain cleaners from a diy store, take the u bend off again and get poking to break up the fat.

Domestos do a good sink and plughole unblocker which you can buy from most supermarkets. It dissolved my hair clump from the shower so it can tackle anything!

B & Q sell a good liquid sink unblocker. Keep trying, I did the same dumb thing you did, and did manage to unblock it myself - it just took a few gos.

Use hot water that will remelt the fat and flush it through

yey! problem sorted. before i even got chance to buy some drain unblocker, other half bought a flexible drain rod from b and q for about �2 and pushed it all through. think i'll buy a drain unblocker too just to be sure it's clear.
