Broken toe drives me mad

Not sure whether its a 'Body & Soul' or 'How it Works' question. Can I legally drive with a broken little toe? I am able to walk around the house in bare feet and in sandals with little or no pain. I have had to take a week off work though because wearing the required steel toecapped boots is too painful. Would this class me as being unfit to drive?

The criteria 'control of your vehicle', so if you are sure that the injury is not going to compromise your ability to drive safely, there should be no problem. It sounds like you will be OK - in the highly unlikley event that you have an accident, as long as it cannot be proved that the accident was as a result of lack of control directly due to your injury, you will be OK.

Just imagine a small child runs out in front of your car you slam your foot on the break but the pain in your toe is so bad that just by instinct you pull your foot away, you hit the child and he/she dies in the road. Still at least going to the beach is worth risking people's lives. I broke my collor bone last year I could drive a car after about 4 weeks but I knew what if I had had to make an emergency manouver then the pain would have been so bad I would'nt have been able to do it. If you think this is not your case then go ahead and drive, but do think of the risks.

Ignore WoWo. If can walk around the house comfotably then you can drive. Anyway, putting your foot on the brakes in an emergency situation is a reflex action and you would not be aware of any pain.
