The key is softness, fluffiness and an absolute minimum of 3 pillows (no maximum).

Bed linen, like saucepans, is well worth lashing out on, you only need 2 sets after all. I use Sheridan, it's heavy and luxurious.

White (must be white) Egyptian cotton sheets, 2 med to firm pillows and down duvet, covered with a cotton cover.

No polycotton allowed, makes me hot and itchy!

Nothing but white, 100% cotton sheets ( I also like satin/silk), feather duvet, firm pillows are a must.
