We completed the sale on our house nearly a month ago and have moved, but the solicitors have only recently forwarded the TR1 form to us to sign, which then needs to go to the buyers of our old house too. Are there any legal implications to this??

Form TR1 is for the registration of the transfer of legal title at the Land Registry (from you to your buyer). Your solicitor is just rather slow at doing it, but there are no implications.
The TR1 should be produced by the buyer's solicitors, so it may not be your solicitor's fault at all.
