nox and others will well remember what happens when the police are under big media pressure to catch someone for something. I hope lessons were learned from cases like that of the Guildford four.
I still have my doubts that this is the right man - he seems too stupid and too helpful. Having heard his voice on the interview, he sounds like a million other prattish men who really do only want to help, and who are very boring. Let's wait and see.
I read somewhere this morning that the police caught him in November trying to abduct a woman and that he was out on bail at the time of the murders. If this is true the police will certainly be in the firing line for letting him go and letting this happen. A bit like the Yorkshire Ripper case !!!.
I watched the news, they must have the right guy or they wouldn't release all that info. He does look a bit odd though...
Prostitution will never go away. There must be legal brothels so that women can do their business safely. There also needs to be drug counselling, health checks and vetting of punters. Until then murders and rapes of these women will carry on.
might be a bit of a colin stagg type case here(the guy tried for the rachell nickell murder) and aquitted.he was an oddball and a likely candidate-thats the problem.the police want a result and jump the gun to appease the public.have a feeling he will be free in a couple of days.
anderlee On Sky News (so it Must be true!) there was an interview and they said that legal brothels had been tried in Birmingham and someowhere else (I can't remember) and they didn't work. Men didn't actually want to walk through the doors and other girls still walked the streets.
just heared on the b.b.c. a seccond arrest in conection with the murders . i'm glad the first one wasn't stoned to death by so many of the more zelous a.b.ers. in the mean time! a victory for common sense and reason! phew! just hang on a bit, let the police have their chance to do their job to their own satisfaction please. we don't actualy know a thing yet !
I can't believe what I am reading here.
He hasn't even been found guilty!
I don't know, jedimistress - I thought most posts were quite cautiously saying 'IF he's the one'. And wisely so, since it now seems he isn't.
I do hope I am proven right, as I really didn't think suspect No 1 was the killer.
