Here is a recipe for Damson gin. I'm sure you could substitute vodka for gin if you want.

1lb damsons
1lb sugar
1 litre gin

Wash and prick the fruit and place all ingredients in a jar. Shake gently every day until the sugar dissolves (at least a month). Strain and serve.
