Puzzle Monthly Issue 13 ..again !
4 Answers
I see that some other folks here subscribe to this magazine. I am a new subscriber and like the the puzzles ..however in a couple of them, namely Cryptic Page 29 and Trytangle Page 39 when you are asked to unscramble the letters for the answer there are several different words you can come up with.EG ..the answer to Trytangle is CERLAL whcih gives a choice of either Cellar,Caller or Recall. There are several options for the Cryptic anagram too. So do you just take pot luck and stick a pin in or is this a mistake on their part as they ask for a one word answer..

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I have been subscribing to this magazine for a long time now Shaneystar, despite threatening not to every year! The reason for this is that recently the magazine has been riddled with mistakes, such that it was totally impossible to do the puzzle, especially the logical. If you come across a mistake, you do wonder if its more likely to be theirs than yours. The most common one is to tell you in the instructions that the answer is an anagram, whereas the answer is spelt out sequentially.
In the trytangle, the answers don't have to be unscramled this month, and I have a second letter e where you have your first letter l. 17 down is expecting.
My most common gripe is that I cannot see the grey squares very clearly, and sometimes I do the puzzle in pencil. If I make a mistake, I erase the grey squares too when I erase the mistake!
Hope this doesn't put you off the magazine. At least I've got someone to consult now if I get stuck.
