I am 13 weeks pregnant and worried about everything. The thing is, my boyfriend asked me for a DNA test about a month ago. I was really, really offended. I know that I have not been with anyone else, but because he is doubting me I'm now doubting myself. I am driving myself crazy, how do I handle this????

For a start I'd dump him!

What sort of man does this to his girlfriend without suspicion of any kind?

Being pregnant can be a stressful enough time without a boyfriend pecking your head as well!

You have to put yourself and your unborn baby before this "man"...............
Firstly, a DNA test cannot be done until the baby is born, so that is not the pressing matter at the moment.

Sounds to me like your boyfriend is very young (or immature) and frightened. This is no excuse, however, for his lack of respect for your condition.

Have you decided what you are going to do about the pregnancy? It does not sound like he will be supportive towards you, so you need to ensure you have a strong support system around you if you plan to have the baby. You need to also decide what to do about the boyfriend. This is your decision alone.

What concerns me the most is your own doubt about the paternity of the child... Why are you doubting yourself? Surely you know if you have or have not had sex with anyone else?

Ive been with my partner for 8years and he still asked for a DNA!! I think is just a thing they all say to help with the shock. He will know deep down you are truthful.
"A thing they all say?"!!!!!!
You must be joking. If my partner had said that I'd be out that door!
Just because it wasn't a planned pregnancy doesn't mean he should immediately think you might have slept with someone else.I don't know how you can bring up a kid within that kind of relationship.
And I agree with DivaDebbs, how are you doubting yourself kTbug?

You know, I have no idea why I started doubting myself. Like I said, I have not been with anyone else, but I think if someone doubts you, it intern makes you doubt the fact too. At least it does me. I don't know, I am just worryng about whatever I allow my mind to make up. I seriously need to chill out with the worrying.
However, I did go to the doctor this morning and it made me feel a lot better....It's a BOY, I think I can finally take a deep breath and relax. Thanks gusy!!!!!
Great news kTbug!

You just concentrate on the important stuff now - you and your wee boy!

This guy is seriously messing with your head and you really DON'T need that!

Be strong and move on!
the shock of news of a pregnancy can cause some many (not many) to question a lot of things and they can become very insecure. If he really is wanting proof that the baby is his then is he really worth having around?
congrats by the way, youve a journey ahead of you. Im amazed that you know the sex of baby already, i didnt think it was possible to tell at 13 weeks.
Oh yes - the baby is fully formed by 12 weeks, so the radiographer can certainly tell the sex.
If you know you haven't been with anyone else don't worry about it. If your boyfriend loved you he would not doubt you at all, he would be happy. Take care of yourself first the baby is the most improtant thing right now.
