It was indeed Wiz (real name Darren Brown). Sadly, he passed away on 6th December last year at just 44 years of age.

Dear me, how sad.
I was thinking about Mega City 4 the other day, they are one of the forgotten bands of the 90's like Senseliess Things and Kingmaker.
