has anyone any ideas for a different, unique present i can buy for xmas as my mothers present?

My mum is a chef and has hundreds of receipes all over the house which she can never find when she wants one so I have bought some nice notebooks and plan to put all her receipes in them. I've got 4 books for starters, main courses, puddings and baking and will alphabetise them all so she can find them easily.

I also bought her a digital camera and a DVD of a film from the 1930's with her second cousin in it.

Most mums love clothes, maybe a nice cashmere jumper or give her tickets to go with you to a show or concert after xmas

A rose relating to her name, eg there is one called Elizabeth.

How about a photograph in a nice frame (maybe of yourself) that would be something she could treasure for years to come and very unique too.

We bought my mother in law a digital photo frame for Xmas, scanned all her archived photos and loaded them onto the memory stick as a surprise. TIme consuming, but she's a lovely lady and was worth it! Depending on her philosophy you could also donate a tree, goat or similar through Oxfam Unwrapped or Good Gifts.org. Good luck! I pinched a selection of family photos from a variety of years and had a special calendar made. My Mum absolutely loved it.
