yes
Maybe not if you are a US citizen. I suspect you are - no-one else would dream of asking such a question.

Up to 23 jan 2007 you can travel without one but will need an id of some sort and proof of citizenship
From then to the end of the year you will need one if travelling by air but not if you travel by sea
From 2008 you will need one anyway.
well yes. think about it.
nice one dzug.
This is such a ridiculous question. How are we supposed to know where you are travelling from or what country are you a citizen of?
Where is Jamacia?!
True chazza but people posting questions- here and elsewhere- often work on the assumption I know where I am therefore everyone else must. On AB it's a general assumption that most posters are in the UK but some are not. Just occasionally you can tell - use of $ sign, other US terminology or (like this) a question that makes a lot more sense in a US context than a UK one.
dzug, I tend to agree with you but there are some really stupid people here in the UK :-)
can you go to any country outside the Uk without a passport, I dont think so, cabrigirl is this a wind up ?
but -----
I was standing in our small local supermarket and a woman came in and asked could she pay the congestion charge [ I live in East London] and the girl behind the till said " whats a congestion charge " and had to go and ask !!!
