Hi guys, next summer I'm hopefully off to Whistler, Canada for 6-12 months. I'll need a job while I'm out there and am hoping to work in a shop or as a Barista. Trouble is I can't obtain a work permit unless I've been offered a job.
Do you think a shop/coffee shop is likely to be able to wait the few months it'll take for my permit to come through before I can start work? If not, do you have any advice about what I could do?
The trip is basically to get some freedom and figure out what I want to do with my life so a simple shop job is all I need.

thanks so much in advance!!

hi there,

a work visa can take a while (i know from experience), i would suggest finding out how long you're allowed to stay in canada as a tourist (my bf seems to think you can visit for 6months) then get a job when you get there and sort out the paperwork while you're there.

good luck and have fun
