I have already passed my opinion about the racism / bullying aspect of this show - and received some hostile reaction because of it - but i stand by what i said, even though the media has suddenly cuahgt on to the issues raised.
I maintain that the root of the problem is cultural differences - I believev Shilpa understands why the three females dislike her so much, and she is dealing with it with a degree more dignity than they are. Faced with the personality dynamics, the three females are finding strength in numbers, reinforcing their bond with hostility to the nearest easy target.
I don't think the three females are against Shilpa because she is Indian per se, i think her 'Indian-ness' makes her so different to anyone they can relate to, that they bond together and shut her out. If everyone were to start again, it is equally possible that they could have found the differences between them and Shilpa to be interesting, and a subject of exhcnage of information - but because of the claustrophobic nature of the House, it is far easier to form cliques, draw in like-minded people, and shut out the 'different' one.
Shilpa didn't get to her status in life by being a shrinking violet - under that frail ethereal beauty is a tough uncompromising individual - more than a match for the three who are against her. She may not win, but she certainly won't walk!
When everyone comes out, Shilpa returns to Bollywood and the adoration she has known totally untouched, with some interesting stories. The three ffemales return to life outside with the tabloid treadmill, hopeful career building, and some pretty unpleasant personality issues to ttry and explain. Who wins on that basis? Guess!
