Good for them, the programme is a disgusting charade, hopefully this will be the beginning of the end for it.
Due to the negative publicity The Carphone Warehouse Group PLC had little option but to disassociate themselves from the programme. The Asian market in the UK for their products is vast, and the decision makes sound commercial sense. I don't think it was a moral judgement, just looking after their market share.

My thoughts exactly Gromit, it also gives them even more publicity, and the backing of the 23,000 who have complained.
exactly, a bit knee jerk. They dont really give a stuff about racism but do care about profits.
'The perfume shop' have removed all 'Jade' from their shelves too
Quite right, good for carphone Warehouse - bullying in any way, shape or form should not be tolerated. I have just seen Jade's gob (no other word for it) shrieking at Shilpa, and it was horrific - hardly human - what an idiot!!

Any publicity is good publicity, she'll be the new face of the BNP
Of course they did the right thing. I think their investors would have wanted to know why they didn't if they had not have done so. I'd be damned if I'd let mouthy offensive little trolls like Jade Goody and co affect my business.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Hopefully the ******* show will now crash and burn.
When this programme first started I watched it for a short while before deciding it was trash aimed at trash. My son and daughter called me a cultural snob.
TalkTalk (Carphone Warehouse) called me a couple of weeks ago and convinced me to take their service telling me "Sign up now, you can always cancel within the first month if not happy."
I told my son I had switched. He informed me that they sponsor "that cr*p Big Brother". Wow, how his view had changed after a few years.

So I duly cancelled.

The fact that have now withdrawn their sponsorship is irrelevant: I cancelled on the basis of having watched the programme when it first started and not wanting to be involved with a company associated with this 'entertainment'.
crikey 23,000 people complained, didnt realise such rubbish was watched by that many!!!
cancelling wouldnt have anything to do with the fact that their call centres are in india does it????
No, I doubt 23,000 people do watch Big Brother. Given the number of complaints in the first wave, about 200 or so people watch Big Brother, and the other 22,000 or so people just thought they would join the crowd.

I bet most of the people that complained are white Brits, just thinking that the Muslims would be offended by the events on the TV. The Muslims probably couldn't give a t0ss, although now seeing the amount of complaints, they probably are in on the act now too.

On your second note Gina, you wouldn't be trying to stir up trouble would you?!
As for not many people watching the porgramme, It was on bbc news site earlier that 5.2 million people watched last night, & i cant imagine all but 200 of those were watching from the start & the rest were just following on!?
ThisSpace blatantly ignoring the fact that Shetty is a practising HINDU then...
