Crofter. It's a crossword from a monthly women's magazine and about the only cryptic one I can get my hands on in 'the last outpost.'
kettledrum - you are within the two-minute margin for that rule to apply! :o)
crofter - by the time I get to make my choices - usually late Saturday evening - the two-minute rule has no relevance whatsoever!
