This can convert to MP3 format, which you can then burn to CD.
That USB turntable can only convert vinyl into MP3.. I have been told that the only way to do it is to record the cassette onto your computer via a microphone in socket and then download them onto CD from there. A very long and laborious progress and would be much easier to buy them on CD if they are available
or you can buy a cd recorder for your stereo and record directly to that from your tape - much like taping a cd
If you get a programme cauled Audiolab from a company called Magix - it costs about 20 I think. Qvc the shopping channel also stocks it for about 10 - 20. You use a minijack lead going from your headphone socket in your cassette player into your audo input on the PC.

You can also use it with Vinyl too. It has a traching function but basically it has things in the programme which help to eliminate the cracks and hisses fom cassettes and vinyl. I have it and have copied cassette files into MP3 format from using this CD.

I am going to use t again soon but have ot used it for over a year. You select the sounds youwant and then you play the cassette and hit the record button on the creen of the prog and afterwards you can edit out noises and sounds you don't ike to enhance the sound. you then transfer the file which is in WAV format into MP3 using the prog or using Nero or something like it. My version of Audiolab only gives a trial version to transfer into MP3 with 10 goes but the new Audiolab 2005 has the built in thing to do it. I just use Nero with mine
Do any firms do the job for you (ie you send them cassettes, they magic them into CDs, and they send you CDs all done and dusted)?
