I am thinking of selling my beloved Landrover, but only for economic and environmental reasons. Because I love the driving position, I am looking for the best vehicle to suit, [a] similar position [b] similar size and towing capability] and [c] a lot more mpg. Obviously a decent people carrier would fit the bill, but which one. Thanks for any help
I changed to a Honda CRV.
Contrary to belief they are not full time 4 wheel drive so fuel economy is not too big a problem. It's fitted with lots of goodies, the driving position is good and it has reasonable towing capabilities. It's not as sturdy as the LR so if you do serious off road driving forget it.
A new model is on the market quite soon so there are good bargains to be had if you are happy with the old shape, also insurance is quite reasonable.
Apart from wear and tear items the only problem I have had over the last three years is a blown stop light bulb.
A little bit more constructive than the last answer, even though it was amusing. I've never been too keen on the shape, but a colleague of mine rates them highly
why not get it converted to run on lpg ,it costs about 1500-2000 to convert ,but auto gas is half the price of petrol at only 49p per litre and it is very green and good for the enviroment , i had my vectra converted
Unfortunately it is diesel, and they are not so easy to convert. I had the 2 litre petrol version before and had a lot of problems with backfire and explosions in the air intake and said never again, but thanks for your thoughts anyway
hi ,a good car to get is the hyundi santa fe turbo diesel great jeeps and u get 5 years warranty with ,i had a 2.7 petrol one and it was fab,(only 20-24mls to gallon with petrol though so would go with deisel)
