Does anybody know what is the best way to use a combi boiler? I've always had it on a low setting & recnetly had it on for most of the day, because it has been so cold but it does fire up every 30 seconds or so ... which is annoying... and I have no idea if it works out expensive to run using the combi this way. Recently i've turned it up to about half way... the radiators are much warmer, and the boiler doesn't fire up nowhere near as often as it does on low setting. I've had the combi on timer, which is 6-9 in the morning and 3-10 in the evenings. Does anybody know what the best, most economical way is to run a combi boiler??
Hi, I have a Combi too and I leave mine on all the time, just kicks in when required i.e. when my set temp drops. Set boiler pretty high then control temp via a box on the wall, I also have TVR's on the radiators so this helps too. I set daytime temp to around 18/19*C depending how cold it is and at night I set it to 17*C so that the house does not get too cold. I think it is more efficent to keep it warm rather than let it go completely cold.....unless I have got this wrong?
I don't have thermastats on my radiators... obviously these are more economical.. does anybody know how much it costs to prchase thermastats & is it possible to fit them ourselves?
