OK!! so my sneaking off to florist thing didn't quite go to plan :-( ( see earlier answer) Sammy the dog, curled up on the bed looking after carakeel, heard me pick up the car keys, sprang into life!! jumped all over poor carakeels bad knee before hurtling himself down the stairs, hoping to go walkies!! I then had to peel carakeel off the ceiling in a great deal of pain while she was repeating unpleasantries under her breath.
She is now settled again, I managed to get her a nice rose and a card, and Sammy is forgiven.
Phew!!!!
EFC, Thank you for your kind words, I don't think I do anymore than any lover, husband or wife would do for a loved one, and carakeel is the kindest sweetest thing on the planet!!! i.m.h.o.
I hope all you lovers out there are as happy and content as carakeel and myself and if not, may you find true love and happiness very soon!!
Have a great day!!!

Oh RATTER, you really are my star! Love the beautiful rose and your lovely card. I'm well and truly off the ceiling now and up and about-ish, so doing fine. Like so many of you, I don't like the over-commercialisation of Valentines day. It is the sentiment, not the amount of money spent that carries value. In a way, it is a little sad that some people actually need this day to remind themselves how they feel about their partners.
To be totally honest, I do feel a bit guilty that I didn't realise it was Valentines this morning. I had a bad day and a worse night last night settling with my new knee and although I don't normally use bad language, Sammy-dog jumping on it did leave me in agony mumbling a few choice expletives under my breath. So when RATTER walked in with his rose & card and the warmest of hugs etc. :o) it was better than any rescue remedy!!
So I join RATTER in wishing you all a day filled with love and happiness. And if you have not yet found your true love, may he or she come along very soon and rescue you.
