losing fur

my 11 yrs old cats fur is falling out on the back of the hind legs and base of tail, and does not seem her self, what could be causing this.

could be a flea allergy - would take her to the vets if she as she is not well in herself.

I agree that it may be flea allergy dermatitis - losing hair over the tail and hind legs is the standard presentation.

There are other things that can cause hair loss - best see your vet.
