Hi there,

I have a Compaq Presario PC which according to the spec comes with RAM which is 512 mb of DDR2 - SDRAM. I intend to upgrade it to 1 Gb.

Now I know there are free slots to take extra RAM and I have bought 512 mb of DDR2 - DIMM and intend to use this to upgrade me to 1 Gb. PC World assured me this would be fine.

Can anyone out there reassure me that these 2 RAMS will work together and give me the 1 Gb that I require ??

Are these 2 (SDRAM & DIMM) the same thing ??

What is the difference between SDRAM & DIMM ??

Many Thanks In Advance.

As long as they are the same , they should work for you. Just be sure the speed is the same too such as 333Mhz or 266 and so on. You also want to be sure that your computer is built to handle 1gb.
