I bought a kit for stick insects it included a habitat and equipment and instructions for care of stick insects.
You sent off a voucher that came with the kit to get 10 free stick insect eggs through the post.
They came with two dates attached 30 jan 2006 - 01 march 2006 they card said the eggs would hatch within a couple of weeks of the first date.
Nothing has happened yet they are in the habitat and I look 3 times a day but I dont know what to look for when they are hatched.
Will the eggs look different once the insects have crawled out and what will the insects look that after hatching I assume they will be very small because the eggs are tiny - grain rice.
I remember my kids having stick insects many moons ago- the young looked basically like very tiny stick insects! They do breed very well though- we were over-run with the damned things after a few months!
Ie had stick insects before. Started off with two and ended up with about 3000 all in a very short space of time. When the eggs hatch they are very tiny stick insects, just a miniture of the parents. Do you have cotton wool in the tank if so you might see very tiny little fragile insects as thin as a needle on the cotton wool. good luck
tammy: thanks for the advise ..I think I will have to invest in some glasses my eyes aren't as good as they used to be maybe I will stand more chance of seeing them then. I have got a maginfying glass though!
