Cruelty Free household products

Does anybody know of any fabric conditioner which has not been tested on animals, but that will make the laundry smell really lovely? I've tried certain supermarkets own brands and the smell is poor compared to the big name brands that some people use - but I do my upmost not to use animal tested household stuff, and most of the big name brands are guilty of this.
Hope this is the right category for this - put it here in anticipation of any animal lovers with similar views.
Thanks in advance.

The BUAV website or other animal organisations websites will be your best bet for advice. Remember that products claiming they are not tested on animals may be providing false info - the products might not be but the individual ingredients in the products are likely to have been tested on animals. This includes most essential oils.
unfortunately, the Law dictates that all seperate ingredients have been/have to be tested on animals.
The oils that I have given are naturaly extracted and infused.
I have no doubt, in the past that the clothes softener ingredients would have been tested also.
It is Law.
Ruby? if we were to grow our own Lavenders and learn how to extract the oils, we would.
I have read thoroughly through Starchilds site, and they have explained how the oils are made.... including alcohol.
Make up not tested on animals? possibly the final product, but not the individual parts.
You are doing your bit hun, ok? go organic if you can.....
The alternative? wearing nowt!!! and living au naturelle lol...

just 1 more point lol....
Do not go to those animal/anti vivesection sites. They are deeply upsetting and unnecessary for you to go to.
You have made as best decision as you can.
Monty do you sue these companies that are stating they are not tested on animals? I'd be interested to see any cases you could post up please.

hi beryllium & monty - i've often wondered about the potential to sue a company who misleads the customer by saying not tested on animals, whereas the ingredients have been. Obviously it would take money to do something like this and I'd love to see the day where somebody was challenged. I'm a full supporter of buav, ptea, shac and the likes and am fully aware of what goes on - i do actually avoid looking at any vids etc tho as i find it so upsetting that it consumes me for days. it's not me that they have to convince or convert as i already know what goes on. i know what i have to do and that is give these companies my support and avoid any animal tested products (apart from medicine where we just can't get around it). I realise that the basic ingredients of most things such as household/make up would have to have been tested at some point - the main thing is that we do our best from now on after any fixed cut off dates. on the subject of essential oils - in the past i have bought them from a seller on ebay who states in their spiel that the stuff is cruelty free.
It's nice to hear from some like minded people - I find that most of my friends and family just pay me lip service on the matter.
did any of you see the rtuth about food on ch 5 last night? the force fed geese for the fois gras?
ruby :-)

Hey Rubes,
The foie gras has long been known by myself.... mr B.... watching Rick Stein in France was insisting he wasn't going to show how foie gras was made, whilst I was trying desperatly to tell him how cruel it is.
..... cue the next shot.......
Geese being force fed down their throats...... he really didn't know.....
This afternoon I really did order those soapnuts lol..... the price is fine and mr B is not a grubster hehe so I can still wash on 30 ☺☺☺
