escort wont start

hello i have a ford escort gti 1997 R reg which i went out to start it up this morning and it was dead the cars never let me down but after putting jump leads on started back up and has been fine all day anyt idea what caused this or do i need to change anything thanx..wayne

You could have left the lights on which drained the battery(Dont forget the interior light)
Sometimes if its a cold night and the battery is on its way out it will loose charge.

Have you local car shop do a drop test on your battery ,it could be that its on its last legs and needs replacing ,the jump start just got you going again .

if battery is ok check alternator it could be discharging battery over night
