Suspension from AB

Dear Ed
Last week my account with AB was suspended with no prior explanation. I have today received your e-mail as below:

"Thanks for the email and sorry for the delay in getting back to you, your account has now been unsuspended.

As none of the content on any of your postings has been explicit, offensive, abusive etc the reason behind the suspension is most likely to be due to excessive posting i.e. you have posted more than 3 times in 5 minutes. This
rule has always been in place and is not by any means a new feature.

Hope this explains the problems"

Would you please consider the following:-
1) If this is a rule of Answerbank, surely it should be listed accordingly with other site rules.

2) Whilst I can understand your wish to eradicate spam, there is often good reason to provide answers quickly on Q&P site when jointly solving certain puzzles, so can the ruling not be applied more selectively?

And may I also ask if the 3 postings in 5 minutes applies to Q&A in different threads, or only Q&A within the same thread, or both?

Since my suspension I have looked carefully at other postings, and there seems to be absolutely no uniformity with the implementation of this rule.

Presumably lector is trawling through all my posts to find it ...well he may be some time ...as he obviously can't back up his accusation .

As for his line against chatting

They are hardly clandestine .....they are right out in the open for everyone to read including Lector who probably knows all about my recent washing machine disaster and the fact that my dog has a sore ear ....because he reads them !

If that's not proof positive of his vendetta then I don't know what is . He just loathes people being friendly .The Editor knows all about the chat threads ..they don't interfere with him so I cannot see why he has to get himself so steamed up about them .

If the Editor didn't allow a little leeway she would zap them,but she doesn't ....probably because we contribute much more to AB than just nattering in a corner.
As I have said before ...I would like to see Lector give someone some help on here in respect of other categories and do the" wider participation "thing he is always banging on about .
He should take a leaf out of his own book ...chill out ..have a natter with people ..but he's too much of a miserable old curmudgeon to do so.Just wants to lay down his rules all the time ...and as has been said, takes the moral high ground when things are not run to his petty standards .

As a long term member of AB you have often demonstrated your belief that this gives you some pre-emption rights, over how AB should be run ... �I chat� ... well, the news is that having been one of the chief aggravators (with your insistence to chat) that made the life of the last Ed difficult (just go back and see some of the aggro you caused thisLady) ... having been one of the main early-day moaners against KM during her first few xwords (that recent survey run by Aquagility must have annoyed you) ... you are not in charge, any longer, even from the shadows .... so, leave it to the new Ed to run this show; who certainly seems to have regained the initiative and taken-back control of this site ....

maybe chatterbank / Answer Back / Messenger are sites that you should master in --- much better for verBOSSitY -

It appears that you intend to completely ignore the specific point that I raised in my previous post lector.

This is completely understandable as your actions in this respect have been totally at variance to your rhetoric, and are therefore indefensible.

I will defend my corner yet again from this muppet who seems to now have absolutely lost the plot .

1.The previous Editor was quite happy for people to chat and the new Editor seems happy about it too.


2. I have never moaned about the standard of the DT crossword .In fact I have often said she (KM) is doing a grand job . May have said I found them a bit easy but nothing detrimental to her capabilities.If you can find any post from me saying otherwise do cut and paste it here where we can all see it .

4 I am still waiting for you to tell me what my other name is ...so is Ont-ice.

5.I am not "in charge" of anything or anyone ....you are the one with the rule book .

And finally ....get your head tested.....you talk out of the back of your neck .Check your ears too...I can see the steam coming out of them .

Most of the psychotic tirade is from you with this bee you have in your over inflated bonnet about people chatting.

I shan't be returning to this thread either (huge sigh of relief from sarumite ) to bandy words with a cowardly peasant like you .
