Boyfriend phone switched off-what should i think? Help!!

Ive recently met this really nice guy, ony thing is his phone has been off for over a day now (since yesterday morning) and he texted me from his brothers phone once to say his battery is dying and he will call me when he gets in from his brothers house. (he didn't say when he will b back and that was yesterday afternoon), but all up until now his phone is still swtiched off with no word. I am going out of my mind. Am i just being silly and should wait for him to call, or is he taking the **** out of me? Help :-(

personally if i was the guy-
i would have got in my car , got onto the motorway, got the car to well over 70mph, then thrown it out the window, changed my name, address, workplace, circle of friends , drinking dens etc etc,
no offence but you sound extremely desperate and like a nightmare .....
