You haven't left the gas-meter man in the oven have you? They often make clicking noises when trapped in confined places. Hope this helps.
The clicking is likely to be the spark from the igniter. The oven will have a sensor that works from the heat of the flame to stop the igniter from working once the gas is lit. It might be that this sensor has somehow become faulty.
sounds like there is a tap dancer stuck in there
Depending on the age of the cooker, try a new battery for the ignition spark.
The electrode sensor has probably moved and is not sensing a flame so it is constantly trying to ignite the gas. Or it is faulty and needs replacing.
