I split up with my fiance last November, we have remained friends to a certain extent. Mainly because we had all the same friends. Recently me and one of our friends have been getting closer. My ex has already told our friend that he wouldnt mind if we went out. I really like this bloke and i think he likes me aswell. But im a bit confused as when it is just me and him we are like a couple, ie all cuddly and kissing and that but when we are around everyone else he is just a mate. I havent got a problem with it but i just need to know where i stand. Do you think i am being to pushy or insecure??
TIA

We are going for a drink just the 2 of us tonight to a pub where we dont usually go so maybe i was just being insecure!!
Scanning through this thread...i would say it is one on two reasons...

1. Out of respect or embarrassment...He doesn't want to flaunt your relationship in front of your EX...personally It's the worse thing to do to a mate..Shagging a pal ex is a complete no no...with all due respect.

2. He (your new man) is just having some fun...Personally I think you should ask him why he behaves differently when your friends are around..

Q. How long were you with you Ex for? and how old are you & your newbe man?

Good luck...just enjoy what you have and see how it goes..

I was with my ex for nearly two years. I am 23 and the newbe bloke is 22.
I asked him why he was different around me when everyone else is there and he said that it was because he didnt want everyone knowing yet and that it is nicer when we are alone as we can be lovey dovey together then.
