Not sure if this is right section but hopefully someone will give an answer.
Why is it that when I wash a quilt cover, all the other washing ends up inside? It still does, even if I've got the cover done up! B****y infuriating!!
Don't see how it can if you've buttoned it shut,(?) but, there was a programme once that showed in an experiment that this will happen every time if you place items in the wash with an open quilt cover. There was actually a reason for it that escapes me for now, but if you don't button the cover, it WILL happen! Apparently.
Steve - if you wash the quilt cover along with a sheet or two (depending on the size of your machine) you should find that the sheets do not have quite enough energy to actually get inside the cover (assuming you HAVE buttoned it up). Have you tried telling the sheets beforehand about the potential dangers of getting involved with a quilt cover ? That usually works in my household..... but I always play safe by calling it a duvet cover, not a quilt.....
